Cook Your Way Through Music City: Nashville Cooking Classes

Have you ever tried a cooking class? I believe that no matter what your experience level is that everyone can benefit or just have fun in a cooking class. When I lived in Nashville years ago, I took classes from a bunch of different places, unfortunately, most of those have closed. So, I am now on the hunt for the best of the best Nashville cooking classes. My first step was to research and create a master list of Nashville cooking classes and the result is below.

I plan to spend some time over the remainder of the year testing out a bunch of these Nashville cooking classes to see which ones are my favorite. Make sure you bookmark this page as I will update it as I try these classes and find new ones. 

1. Backyard Pitmasters
Backyard Pitmasters is the nation’s leader in BBQ Pitmaster classes. They offer a variety of classes including Pitmaster 360, BrisketU, RibsU and more. Each of their classes are taught at local breweries – however, you do not need to be 21 to attend. They offer gift certificates for their classes. 
 
2. Banter Supper Club
Banter Supper Club was founded by Lexi Frankum and Lia Breshay. They wanted to create a place to have chef-prepared seasonal meals and events that allow you to slow down and be present. Recently they offered a hands-on open fire cooking class. 
 
3. Black Diamond Culinary
Kris McCorkle founded Black Diamond Culinary in 2019. She wanted to create intimate, memorable experiences. Kris offers fine dining experiences and teaches European-style cooking classes. She wants you to be able to create the dishes you thought you’d never be able to. Her classes currently include Old World Italian, Traditional French Cuisine, Where Passion Meets the Sea and more. The classes are located in Nashville and Franklin. 
 
4. Buttery Chick
Fatema offers private Indian cooking classes in her Brentwood home. She uses the finest quality ingredients and flavorful spices flown in directly from India. You can even purchase a gift certificate to gift a cooking class. 
 
5. Dabble Events
Dabble Events offers a wide variety of activities in their Nashville studio including private cooking classes, private mixology classes plus walking and driving tours focusing on Nashville’s food, drink, history and art. The current cooking class options are Cheese and Charcuterie Board Creation Class, Pimento Cheese Making Class, Make-You-Own-Pizza Mingle, and Mixology Mingle. 
 
6. Goo Goo Cluster
Goo Goo Cluster candy was first made in 1912 and continues to be one of America’s favorite candies. Now you can experience the delight of making chocolate at their hands on classes in their downtown Nashville store. Current classes include Goos & Booze, Wine & Chocolate, Bubbles & Bonbons, and Taste of Goo Goo. FYI some of their classes are 21+.
 
7. Hoamsy
Hoamsy offers local community members a platform to host and attend unique experiences. They have all kinds of activities including classes in Martini Cake Decorating, Indian Cooking, Vintage Cake Decorating, Asian Dumpling making and so much more. 
 
8. Italy From Scratch
Italy From Scratch offers hands-on authentic Italian food cooking classes. Each cooking classes features hands-on learning, a 4-course meal, table service, wine and recipes to take home. 
 
9. Kitchen Social
Kitchen Social offers a wide variety of hands-on cooking classes in Brentwood in their studio. Current class offerings include The Ultimate Spring Brunch Class, The Culinary Garden, Fabulous Flavors of Pasta, Midnight in Paris and more!
 
10. Let’s Eat with Kibwe
Founded by Chef Lorna Boyd, Let’s Eat With Kibwe offers unique experiences including private dinners and hands-on cooking classes. Currently she is offering the class The Pasta Lab: Wine & Handmade Pasta. 
 
11. Miel
Miel is known for its seasonally inspired menu and adventurous wine list. They offer a variety of classes including wine tasting, wine and cheese pairing, sauces cooking class and more. 
 
12. Rose & Plum Living
Located in Cool Springs area, Rose & Plum Living is a full-service events & catering company offering cooking classes too! 
 
13. Sip History
Sip History is a 2-hour interactive cocktail making class. During the class you’ll learn about cocktail history, techniques, and get to create your own drink behind the bar. Perfect for a date night or bachelorette party. Don’t forget these classes are 21+. 
 
14. Sourdough Nashville
Master baker, Ben Bahil, offers artisan bread making group classes in Nashville. His current class offerings include Sourdough, Challah, and Focaccia. Plus, he offers private classes for events.
 
15. Standard Proof Whiskey Co.
Standard Proof Whiskey Co. is a micro-distillery that creates handcrafted whiskey in Nashville. They are offering a whiskey tasting and cocktail class experience. Don’t forget this is a 21+ experience. 
 
16. SusieCakes
SusieCakes offers cake decorating classes at their Nashville store. Included in the class is step-by-step coaching, creative freedom and you get to take your cake home. FYI, their classes are only listed on Eventbrite and not their own website. 
 
17. The Curious Kitchen
The Curious Kitchen is located in Murfreesboro, and they offer a variety of classes include kids, adults and family classes. Currently their cooking class calendar has Fresh Pasta Making, An Alice in Wonderland Cooking Class for Kids, All About Cheesecake, Modern Macarons, and more!
 
18. The Kitchen Nashville
The Kitchen Nashville is a cooking store that offers a wide variety of cookware, bakeware, and so much more. They also have a studio inside their store where they offer cooking classes. Currently they have classes for Sourdough Basics, Sushi 101, and Pasta Making on their schedule. 
 
19. The Roll Academy
The Roll Academy offers interactive Rolled Ice Cream classes. Learn how to create rolled ice cream in custom flavors and don’t worry they offer dairy-free and gluten-free options. 
 
20. Williams Sonoma
Williams Sonoma offers a wide variety of events and cooking classes at their stores. A lot of the in-store classes and events are free. 
 
21. Yolan
Yolan serves authentic Italian cuisine in the heart of Nashville. They also offer pasta classes, wine tasting, and specialty tasting menus. 
 

I can’t wait to jump into these Nashville cooking classes. The cover such a wide variety of techniques and cuisines. Don’t worry if you haven’t taken a class before they are a lot of fun and I’ve never gone to a class where I didn’t learn something new. Have you ever taken any of these Nashville cooking classes?
