“The Cozy Christmas Movie Cookbook brings you 100 recipes inspired by dozens of your favorite films and their loveable characters,” Holly Carpenter.
I am one of those people that can watch Hallmark Christmas movies all year long. So you can imagine how happy I was to see this cookbook. The recipes are really easy to follow and remind me of all the wonderful treats I see in Christmas movies. Both recipes I chose to make were inspired by Switched for Christmas staring Candace Cameron Bure (I didn’t mean to do this – it just happened).
Kate's Easy Breakfast Casserole
Inspired by: Switched for Christmas
Breakfast is a meal that I could eat anytime of the day and this hearty casserole looked delicious. I cut the recipe in half since it’s just my sister and I. It makes so much food that we still had half left over!
The recipe is easy to put together and so flavorful. I love both bacon and sausage but would never think to put them together in the same recipe, however, they complemented each other so well. This is definitely a recipe I will be making again and would be a great breakfast for Thanksgiving or Christmas morning.
Kate's Baked Cinnamon Sugar Doughnuts
Inspired by: Switched for Christmas
I haven’t made baked doughnuts before and am glad I took a chance with these. The recipe calls for buttermilk, however, I somehow forgot to put it on my grocery list. I did remember seeing on Pinterest a way you can make buttermilk at home, luckily it worked.
The doughnuts came out light and fluffy and they were delicious. I love the fact that the recipe only makes six doughnuts which makes it less likely I will eat an entire dozen!
Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love to cook holiday recipes. The Cozy Christmas Movie Cookbook is a great cookbook for anyone looking to expand their holiday dishes. The only thing that could make this cookbook better would be pictures of more of the recipes. I am excited to keep trying new recipes from The Cozy Movie Christmas Cookbook as I continue watching many Christmas movies.
