2026 James Beard Award Winning Cookbooks

Each year, a new class of exceptional cookbooks and food writers are recognized at the James Beard Media Awards. This is considered one of the most prestigious honors in the culinary world.

These awards celebrate the very best cookbooks and nonfiction food and beverage books published in the United States during the previous year, highlighting excellence in writing, storytelling, and culinary expertise. With so many outstanding books released each year, I certainly don’t envy the judges who must narrow the field and select the winners.

Below you will find the winners of the 2026 James Beard Media Awards, along with links to the award-winning cookbooks and books. Whether you’re looking to expand your cookbook collection, discover a new favorite author, or simply see which titles earned the industry’s highest honors, this list is a great place to start.
