Marinated Mushrooms
About six months ago I was flipping through a cookbook that used to be my Grandma’s. I have had the cookbook for years and looked through it before, but this time a recipe fell out. It was one of my Grandma’s hand written recipes and this one is for marinated mushrooms.
I don’t ever remember having these as a child but I quickly looked at the recipe and wanted to try it immediately. Since my sister and I were going to be traveling to my parents house in Florida, I decided to wait to make them until we were there.
The recipe is very simple but absolutely delicious. Yes, it has a lot of butter but some of the best recipes I have tried contain a lot of butter. Butter isn’t something to be scared of, it can actually help make an amazing dish.
These mushrooms are great with a good steak or roast or even pork chops. Even though there is hot sauce in them they are not spicy at all.
My Grandma was an exceptional home cook. I loved everything she made when I was younger and I am always so inspired when I come across a recipe of hers. These recipes remind me of the family dinners we had at her house when I was younger. She passed away when I was in college and making her recipes makes me feel close to her again.
I hope you enjoy these marinated mushrooms as much as my family and I did. They are definitely something I will make on a regular basis now.
