5 Favorite Holiday Cookie Recipes

We all have those cookie recipes that we make again and again. How did we come to find those recipes? For me some of these recipes I have been making since I was a little kid, but others I have found through my love of cookbooks. Below you will find the five recipes that are a must-have for me in my kitchen. I hope these recipes inspire you to get your bake on this holiday season!

Chocolate Chip Cookies
1. Easy Old-Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies

The first cookie I ever made as a kid was these Easy Old-Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookies. They are a version of the Nestle Tollhouse cookie recipe with my Nana’s edits. In my opinion, these are some of the best chocolate chip cookies. Click here for the Easy Old-Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe.

2. Christmas Snickerdoodles
I have been making these for almost as long as I have been making chocolate chip cookies. The original version of this recipe I have is one my Nana used to make. For these Christmas ones, I make a small edit to the recipe – add the cinnamon to the dough, and then roll the dough in colored sugar. It makes the cookies so festive. 3. Grinch Cookies
Found this recipe a years ago and these are really tasty. So easy to make with a cake mix. Plus, these are my most requested cookies from friends and family. I would guess that I make these at least a few times a year. Click here for the Grinch Cookies recipe.

4. Cutout Butter Cookies
I just recently made this recipe for the first time. The cutout butter cookies are from the Cookie Advent Cookbook. These cookies are the most delicious cutout cookies I have ever made and they don’t spread. I’m a little embarrassed to say they were all eaten in a few days in my house. 5. Strawberry Shells with Strawberry Buttercream
As a Francophile of course I had to include macarons in my list of favorite cookies. These strawberry shells with strawberry buttercream come from the French Macarons for Beginners cookbook. My first attempt at these was a success and they were so delicious. The strawberry shells with strawberry buttercream were a hit in my home. I plan to make these again over Christmas as they are my sister’s favorite. Click here to learn more about the French Macarons for Beginners cookbook.
