“I know you might not think of me as a culinary genius yet, but give me a chance and I promise I won’t disappoint. After all, when you’re in my line of work, every single meal could be your last, so I’ve learned to make each one the very best it can be,” Deadpool.

Deadpool is one of my favorite movies. He is my favorite superhero. I love fun cookbooks that are out of the ordinary and special…Cooking with Deadpool definitely breaks the mold. Who could resist making recipes such as A Self-Portrait in Meat, It’s Not Delivery, It’s Deadpool or Bleeding Hearts? I had a hard time picking just two to make!

Dessert Chimi

The dessert chimi’s were very appealing to me and my love of sweets. The ingredients were easy to find and I had everything in my pantry and fridge except the spring roll wrappers. Spring roll wrappers are normally found in the produce section of larger grocery stores. I didn’t look at the instructions on the spring roll wrappers and messed up my first one because I didn’t wet it first. Once you follow the instructions they are really easy to work with.

My dessert chimi were not really dark when I pulled them out of the oven but they were crisp. Once I rolled them in the cinnamon sugar they looked much darker. I loved the cinnamon sugar whipped cream. The dessert chimi were so good but I could only eat one as they were really filling. I will definitely be making these again soon!

Stabby Meat Sticks

Kabobs are a great way to make a quick meal with meat and vegetables. I loved the name of this recipe and decided to try it out. The marinade is quick to make and had a really great Asian flavor profile. I am not a huge fan of ginger, however, this recipe has the perfect amount of ginger in it. The Stabby Meat Sticks were easy to put together and cooked quickly.

I served the Stabby Meat Sticks with white rice and it was a full delicious meal. Making them in the oven was a great alternative to making on the grill since I don’t have a grill plus it’s been freezing here!

I had no idea what to expect from the Cooking with Deadpool cookbook – was it going to be really gimmicky and have bad recipes or be great? The cookbook was a great surprise and there are so many more recipes I want to make from it. The two that I made were delicious and easy to make. Let me know below what you decide to make when you get yours.
