“This new frontier in my kitchen is about having the freedom to have fun and to spread my cooking wings…but it’s also about appreciating that some things never need to change…” Ree Drummond.

The Pioneer Woman Cooks The New Frontier is a great cookbook. It has a wide variety of recipes that use many different cooking vessels from a skillet to an instant pot or a dutch oven. Some of the recipes are a little healthier and some are indulgent. It gives you the best of both worlds. This cookbook has quickly become a staple cookbook in my kitchen and I enjoy making the recipes.

I love this recipe. It is super easy to make and pretty quick too. One thing to note is that the ingredient list has an error on it. For the ranch dressing mix it should say one packet or 3.5 tbsp. I looked at a few different stores and realized they didn’t have a 3.5 oz packet of ranch dressing mix and when you add up the measurements in the recipe it actually equals 3.5 tbsp.

The pork chops were tasty and the potatoes nice and crisp. I heated up the leftovers for lunch the next day and they were just as good as the night before. It’s a flavorful simple dinner recipe that I have now made a few times and enjoy every time.

Key Lime Pie Bites

I made these to take to a friends house for a get together. The recipe makes 36 so I took 24 and kept the other 12 at home for later. They were delicious. There was a big group of people and everyone was eating them and the kids especially loved them.

Recipe Note: I bought a bag of limes that had nine in it and I used all of them to get the zest and juice needed. They took a little while to make but it was so worth it!

I grew up eating key lime pie – one of my favorite desserts, my grandma used to make it all the time. This was a really nice treat to have and would be great for any get together or just keep them in your fridge to have small bites. I gave some to a friend of my parents over 4th of July and she loved them so much that she said I should make them and sell them. That is definitely a glowing endorsement of the recipe in my mind!
