Reflections of the Past Year

In the beginning of 2020 my 10 year relationship ended and I left New York City. I expected to crash with my sister for a few weeks to maybe a couple of months. Well, that went a little different than expected since Covid hit and the lockdown started about two weeks after I got here. I decided after the lockdown went into affect to start focusing on what I wanted and to pursue my dream of having my cookbook review blog. After a lot of hard work I officially launched on July 20, 2020. I was so pleased with the response from everyone who has joined me on this journey.

2021 hasn’t been the easiest year. In January we lost one of my cousins, then in late May my sister and I experienced a fire in our apartment building and lost almost everything. About a month after the fire we lost one of my aunts.

Even though it’s been a tough few months I know how lucky I am and how many amazing people I have in my life.  A phoenix always rises from the ashes so I know that I coming out of this so much stronger than before. I am looking forward to the second half of this year and moving forward in my life.
