    March 24, 2023 / No Comments

Growing up I was a picky eater which is funny to look back on since I now love most foods, there are a few I still avoid such as liver. Kids can be really tough to please with food and not all are adventurous eaters. One of the best ways I have seen my family and friends get their kids to eat different things is to include them in the cooking and baking. Below are five cookbooks that your kids will love (and adults too), plus a lot of the recipes in these cookbooks are easy enough that your kids can cook with you. Hope these help you please your picky eaters.  1.…

  • Here’s a look inside The Bradshaw Family Cookbook: Our Favorite Recipes for Game Days, Weekdays, and Any Day. If you are a football fan, then you know Terry Bradshaw – he led the Pittsburgh Steelers to four Super Bowl championships. But did you know he and his family love to cook? In this cookbook they share all of their favorites recipes for all of us to try including Brunch Punch, Baked Cinnamon Doughnuts, Ham and Old English Cheese Casserole, Crispy Egg Rolls with Shrimp, Sprouts, and Peanut Butter, Finger-Lickin’ Barbecue Bourbon Chicken Wings, Smoked Maple-Bourbon Pork Belly Bites, Apple Butter Bread, Havarti and Gouda Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Fried Green Garden Tomatoes, Fried Bologna Sandwich on Texas Toast, Wild Blackberry Muffins with Powdered Sugar, and Louisiana Coconut Cream Pie. As you can see, I had a tough time narrowing down the recipes I wanted to mention – I have no idea what I am going to make first. Probably will let my sister pick!

A few of the recipes I am looking forward to making are: Shrimp Parm, Aglio Olio, Chicken Francese, Fried Calamari, Fried Meatballs, and of course the Fresh Mozzarella Sticks.

  • Rarely do you find a cookbook that is as interesting as a regular book even when you aren’t even cooking from it (yet), however that is exactly what you get with Hemingway's Spanish Table: A Culinary Journey in 60+ Recipes. As a huge fan of Hemingway – The Sun Also Rises is one of my favorite novels – I knew I had to add this cookbook to my collection. A few of the recipes included are Sopa De Ajo (Garlic Soup), Papa Doble (Hemingway Daiquiri), Croquetas De Jamon (Ham Croquettes), Solomillo Al Whiskey (Pork Tenderloin with Whiskey Sauce), Torrijas (French Toast), Almejas Con Chorizo (Clams with Sausage), Pimientos Rellenos (Stuffed Roasted Peppers), Pisto (Ratatouille), Tarte De Queso (Basque “Burnt” Cheesecake), and Paella Valenciana (Chicken and Rabbit Rice). I hope this sneak peek sparks your interest as this is a cookbook that you definitely want in your collection!

Rarely do you find a cookbook that is as interesting as a regular book even when you aren’t even cooking from it (yet), however that is exactly what you get with Hemingway's Spanish Table: A Culinary Journey in 60+ Recipes. Funny story, I grew up in Augusta and never golfed until I moved away for college. Haven't played in ages, but spring is making me want to get some clubs again.

Here's a flashback to my 2017 visit to @themasters. It was such a fun day!

Don't forget to phone home from the course as it shows up on caller id as Augusta National.
