What Cookbooks Teach Us
Cookbooks give home chefs access to a wealth of knowledge that we wouldn’t normally have. They can teach us how to master a new skill, help us explore a new cuisine or just help us understand what goes into a composed dish. I have used cookbooks to take my cooking skills to the next level. They have guided me through recipes that I would never have tried without all the tips and tricks offered in the cookbooks. I wouldn’t have made all the improvements to my cooking without cookbooks as they have truly taught me how to cook. The five most important things cookbooks teach you are below. 1. How to Read a…

Bobby Flay’s Throwdown!
“Throwdown…It sounds like a brutal death match between two wrestlers or an Ultimate Fighting Championship cage fight. But in fact, a Throwdown is a friendly surprise competition and the best part about it is the ending, when we all get to eat some seriously delicious food,” Bobby Flay. I love Bobby Flay’s Throwdown, it is such a fun show to watch even now you always learn something from the show. Recently a friend lent me some of her cookbooks and I was so intrigued by Bobby Flay’s Throwdown! cookbook. It gives you Bobby’s recipe and the recipe from the competitor – it also tells you who won the competition. I couldn’t wait to…

Craftsy Cooking Classes
Online cooking classes are a great way to learn how to cook. I recently found Craftsy an online platform offering classes in cooking, baking, cake decorating, photography, fun for kids, sewing and so much more. Currently they are offering a year long premium membership for just $3! It is normally $79.99! I decided to take the Startup Library: Cooking class taught by Celeste Rogers. The class consists of fifteen videos you can watch that will give you a lot of information on the basics you need to be able to cook in the kitchen. She discusses the equipment you need and offers great tips as the lessons progress. I loved her tips on…

You don’t have to give up the foods you love when trying to eat better. All it takes is a few simple swaps,” Danielle Davis. It’s no secret that I love to eat. I try not to be restrictive with what I eat, however, I always find myself searching for healthier versions of the recipes I love. The Healthy Swaps Cookbook offers so many scrumptious recipes that it’s hard not to make all of them at once.
