    French Desserts

    December 9, 2021 / No Comments

“What I learned over the many years I lived in France and from my extensive traveling throughout the country, is that French desserts-the ones the French make in their homes-are easy to make,” Hillary Davis. As a self proclaimed Francophile I have always had a love for French desserts. The French Desserts cookbook provides easy to understand recipes that allow home chefs of any level to make a delicious dessert in their own kitchen. I found some many recipes I wanted to make in French Desserts it made it difficult to choose just two. In the next few months I plan to cook through a lot more of these recipes.

Easy Old-Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

    December 2, 2021 / 1 Comment

Growing up I spent a lot of time with my Nana and when we were together, we baked. Sometimes we made snickerdoodles or fudge but one of my favorite things to make with her was her easy old-fashioned chocolate chip cookie recipe. These homemade chocolate chip cookies were always delicious with the perfect crisp edges and soft centers full of chocolate chips and are still the ones I make today.  One time when we were making these easy chocolate chip cookies, we couldn’t get the bag of flour open. My Nana kept pulling at it and finally, it came open and went all over us and the entire kitchen. We couldn’t stop laughing,…

    Beat Bobby Flay

    November 30, 2021 / No Comments

“People point out to me all the time that I never lose. Well, those people clearly don’t watch that often! The bottom line is that I win about 65 to 70 percent of the time,” Bobby Flay. When home chefs think about chefs like Bobby Flay we assume that every dish they make is a winner, and that’s not true. I love the Beat Bobby Flay show as it showcases how any chef can become a master of a dish. Now we can take this inspiration using the recipes in Beat Bobby Flay cookbook and apply it to our own lives. Will all of our recipe attempts be a success? No, but we…

“While my nostalgia is built around specific Christmas traditions, my hope for all who use this book is that the recipes and notes contained among the pages bring comfort and cheer to your own festivities and families, however they are shaped and chosen,” Sarah Kieffer. I was so excited to see that Sarah Kieffer had a new cookbook, Baking for the Holidays, after her amazing 100 Cookies cookbook. Christmas baking is one of my favorite things to do in the world. I am always looking for something new to make along with my favorites. The recipes in this cookbook are very easy to follow and detailed. I love the wide variety that provides…

  • Here’s a look inside The Bradshaw Family Cookbook: Our Favorite Recipes for Game Days, Weekdays, and Any Day. If you are a football fan, then you know Terry Bradshaw – he led the Pittsburgh Steelers to four Super Bowl championships. But did you know he and his family love to cook? In this cookbook they share all of their favorites recipes for all of us to try including Brunch Punch, Baked Cinnamon Doughnuts, Ham and Old English Cheese Casserole, Crispy Egg Rolls with Shrimp, Sprouts, and Peanut Butter, Finger-Lickin’ Barbecue Bourbon Chicken Wings, Smoked Maple-Bourbon Pork Belly Bites, Apple Butter Bread, Havarti and Gouda Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Fried Green Garden Tomatoes, Fried Bologna Sandwich on Texas Toast, Wild Blackberry Muffins with Powdered Sugar, and Louisiana Coconut Cream Pie. As you can see, I had a tough time narrowing down the recipes I wanted to mention – I have no idea what I am going to make first. Probably will let my sister pick!

Come with me to explore our 63 National Parks with the National Geographic National Parks Cookbook: Dishes Inspired by America's Great Outdoors. I have only been to a few National Parks but it’s on my bucket list to visit all of them in the next few years and this cookbook makes me want to head out on a trip right now! There are recipes inspired by all the parks and they all look so good. Here are just a few of the recipes that caught my attention: Graham Cracker Milkshake, Grilled Bison Skewers with Wojape, Entomatadas de Pollo, Mini Apple Crumble Pies, Twice-Cooked Carrots with Cracked Coriander, St. Louise-Style Toasted Ravioli, Smoky S’mores Snack Mix, Honey-Rosemary Cedar Plank Salmon, and Dungeness Crab Cakes. Want to bring a little part of the National Parks to your own kitchen? Comment parks for the link to pick up your copy of this cookbook today. Funny story, I grew up in Augusta and never golfed until I moved away for college. Haven't played in ages, but spring is making me want to get some clubs again.

Here's a flashback to my 2017 visit to @themasters. It was such a fun day!

Don't forget to phone home from the course as it shows up on caller id as Augusta National.
