  • Pull up a camp chair and have a look inside Cook Out: Recipes and Tips for the Great Outdoors [An Outdoor Cookbook]. Even though it’s been a while since I’ve gone camping, I do really enjoy it. I’m always thinking about what I’m going to eat while out there and normally just fall back on super simple meals, but I want more options and this cookbook delivers.

It includes recipes such as salsa verde, buttermilk pancakes with seasonal fruit compote and crème fraiche, salmon hash, charred veggie quesadillas, steak tacos, fire-roasted curry cauliflower, spaghetti with clams, grilled peaches with vanilla mascarpone and cookie crumble, and half-baked cookie. Next time I’m camping I’m going to be using some of these recipes to have an even better time. What’s your favorite place to go camping?

They're quick to make, fun to serve, and are always on of the first treats to disappear from the dessert table or your fridge. My only advice? Set a few aside for yourself before serving, because they tend to vanish fast! Comment red for the recipe to make these today. Pull up a camp chair and have a look inside Cook Out: Recipes and Tips for the Great Outdoors [An Outdoor Cookbook]. Welcome to @mykitchenlit! ✨ I’m a cookbook collector with 250+ titles and a love for cooking, baking, and foodie adventures. The 2026 James Beard Media Award winners were announced last weekend! And as always, they are the best of the best in food writing published last year in the U.S.

I've rounded up all of the 2026 cookbook and book winners in one place so you can discover which titles took home the top honors and which ones you want to add to your cookbook wish list. I definitely added some to my list!

Comment BEARD for the full list.
